The problem addressed by this article is whether or not Mitt Romney can regain momentum in the GOP presidential contest. It addressed how Romney tried to get Tea Party voters more on his side by picking up an endorsement of governor Nikki Haley, who was one of the tea party's successes in 2010. Results that might affect public policy are which way the tea party voters and evangelical voters vote in Iowa and South Carolina. Romney is strong in New Hampshire because they are more aligned with his approach, the problem is how many votes he would get in Iowa and South Carolina.
New information that i learned was that Mitt Romney is almost for sure going to win New Hampshire, that he thinks that bank regulations and the healthcare overhaul by Obama is harmful to small businesses. Also, that Newt Gingrich has passed Romney in some polls, but Gingrich's strength is losing momentum due to a good amount of attack ads from other candidates. I could use this information given by getting a closer look at how Romney is going about trying to win these three states by getting on tea party and evangelical voter's "good side". I can also use it by seeing how Newt Gingrich's campaign is slowly declining due to attack ads from his opposition. I don't think the author of this article really takes any position in this article, he's pretty neutral.
